 Temptations are made for man

(The Lord:) "If this world were not equipped with all imaginable enticements, but if it were for man what a desert is for wild beasts, man's godlike free will, his reason and intellect would have been given him in vain. For what should then excite his love and cause it to desire and want, and what could purify his reason and awaken and animate his intellect?

The great multiplicity of things, the good and the bad, the noble and the base, are only there because of man, that he may see it all, recognize, examine, choose and use it in a practical way. From this he can then already begin to conclude that it has all been created and arranged like that by a supremely wise, good and almighty Creator who, once man begins out of himself to form an opinion like that truly never fails to reveal Himself more clearly to thinking man, as has been the case at all times.
