The Lord tells us in His New Word that
- The Jewish priests for profit reasons had changed the Sabbath law given by God through Moses. God never has said that on a Sabbath day one must not do any good service for someone [GGJ.08:091,03].
- God meant the Sabbath not only to be a day of rest but of praise and good deeds [CHJ.149.12-16]
- Nowhere is it written that on a Sabbath day one should let a fellow man perish [CHJ.149.15]
- God values good deeds on a Sabbath more than to go to the temple/church.[GGJ.01:049,14]
"Our most loving Father, Who are dwelling in Your heavens!
Let Your Kingdom of love and truth come to us in actual fact!
Your alone holy will, the essence of all beings, be active also among us as it is in all Your heavens and spaces of creation!
Give us, Your little children, the bread of life!
Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive our brothers who have offended us.
Do not let temptations and impulses to sin assail us, which we could hardly or not at all resist in our weakness, but deliver us from all evil!
Your name be always hallowed, extolled and praised above all, for Yours is all the love, wisdom, power and glory forever!"
The Lord Jesus: "Joseph, every man may do good as far as the Sabbath is concerned. The keeping of the Sabbath does not consist in idleness the whole day through, but much rather in the doing of good works. Moses to be sure taught that the keeping of the Sabbath was most necessary and in his Law characterized every unnecessary and menially paid-for labor as a desecration of the Sabbath, which is an abomination before God - but Moses never forbade the doing of God‘s will on the Sabbath. Nowhere in the Law does it state that one should allow a brother to perish on the Sabbath!
"And I, as the Lord of the Sabbath, say this: Always do good also on the Sabbath, and you will celebrate the Sabbath in the best manner! [CHJ:149,12-16]
